Autumn in Rondane
So, I’m back from a rather tiresome trip into the scenic valley Dørålen in Rondane National Park. The fall colors were spectacular and the light conditions seemed to be decent enough. It’s strange though, coming to a new location you feel almost lost. Like, where to go, what to shoot. I guess that’s normal though.
I still managed to field test my brand spanking new Canon 1Ds-MarkIII. And I love it
Of course. It’s a bit heavier to lug around than my 5D, but it feels more sturdy and of course, gives me more pixels to work with.
Sadly though, I didn’t get great light. Not at all. But you work with what you are given and I’m pretty satisfied with the results from this trip. Next year, I’ll be spending a lot more time up there as you need more than 1 night to familiarize yourself with this vast place.

Fantastic images Anders! The colors of fall are really popping in Rondane. This place is truly inspiring and thought-provoking, yet with great diversity in colors and landscape forms which always have something soothing about them. From the very first beginning I saw Seung Kye’s work of this place I wanted to go but so far it hasn’t worked out. I hope I can manage a trip up north next year. At this point Rondane NP holds the top spot on my list of places to go in Europe.
Keep up your great work and maybe we see each other out there someday!
